Mini-Grants to Accelerate Energy and Smart
Manufacturing Projects in Southwestern Pennsylvania
Get reimbursed for high-impact projects that help you enter energy supply chains, reduce energy costs, and adopt smart manufacturing technologies—with hands-on support from Catalyst Connection.
Small- and medium-sized manufacturers in Southwestern Pennsylvania can access two mini-grant programs designed to reduce risk and accelerate investment in energy efficiency, energy supply chains, and smart manufacturing technologies. These reimbursement grants help offset project costs while providing hands-on technical support from Catalyst Connection.
ARC ARISE Energy & Manufacturing (EMA) Mini-Grant Program

The ARC ARISE Energy & Manufacturing (EMA) Mini-Grant Program offers reimbursement funding of up to $10,000 per project to support manufacturers that are engaging with energy supply chains or implementing energy cost-reduction strategies. Companies may request funding for up to 50 percent of total project costs, with the remaining match provided through state or private funds. Eligible projects must stem from an energy or supply chain assessment and may include consulting services, software, and one-time implementation expenses. Equipment purchases and internal labor costs are not eligible. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis through June 30, 2027, or until funds are fully allocated.

SMART-PA Technical Assistance Mini-Grant Program

The SMART-PA Technical Assistance Mini-Grant Program, funded by the U.S. Department of Energy, provides reimbursement of up to $5,000 per project to help Pennsylvania manufacturers assess, pilot, and implement smart manufacturing technologies. Funding supports activities such as proof-of-concept development, vendor evaluation, systems integration, and targeted training. Grants cover up to 50 percent of eligible project costs and are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are depleted. Projects must be completed within the approved timeline and no later than February 28, 2026.
For both programs, Catalyst Connection guides manufacturers through eligibility, project scoping, and the reimbursement process—helping companies move from assessment to implementation with confidence.
