Who are Navigators?

The Manufacturing Navigators Program at Catalyst Connection introduces students, educators, and families to rewarding manufacturing careers in Southwestern Pennsylvania. By connecting schools with local manufacturers, the program builds awareness of modern career pathways and helps prepare the next generation of skilled workers.

Why Manufacturing Navigators?

Manufacturing offers high-growth opportunities in areas such as advanced technology, robotics, and engineering. Yet many students and parents are unaware of the variety of STEM-based career pathways available in today’s manufacturing industry. The Manufacturing Navigators Program bridges that gap by:

  • Connecting educators and career counselors with resources to guide students.
  • Hosting career exploration activities, plant tours, and industry events.
  • Showcasing real stories of manufacturing professionals in our region.
  • Providing access to training programs, pre-apprenticeships, and hands-on learning experiences.

Who Benefits?

  • Students gain exposure to modern technologies and career opportunities.
  • Educators and school counselors receive tools to better advise their students about manufacturing pathways.
  • Families learn about the benefits of manufacturing careers, including competitive wages, long-term stability, and advancement opportunities.
  • Manufacturers strengthen their future workforce by inspiring students to pursue careers in the industry.

Build a Stronger Workforce for Southwestern PA

Through Manufacturing Navigators, Catalyst Connection is committed to supporting workforce development in manufacturing by making career pathways more visible and accessible. Together with schools, families, and industry partners, we are shaping the future of advanced manufacturing in the region.
