Learn About Clean Energy Manufacturing Economy

 

The Clean Energy Manufacturing (CEMfg) initiative provides technical assistance and business support to small and medium manufacturers seeking to expand business, production, and jobs in the clean energy supply chains in the coal-impacted, Appalachian region. Manufacturers also have opportunities to help lead the transition to a net zero economy. CEMfg helps with these initiatives through emissions reductions assessments and implementation strategies that increase efficiency and reduce production costs. This program is introductory level and geared to manufacturers in the tri-state area. Attendance is limited. Participants will walk away with an understanding of the following: • Overview of Clean Energy Economy • Current and emerging supply chain opportunities • Online resources available through CEMfg • $10,000 Mini-grant program • Field tours • Training programs & workshops

 

The program will be led by CEMfg team members:

Tom Reed serves as the Project Manager for the Clean Energy Manufacturing initiative for Catalyst Connection. He implements many aspects of this initiative including outreach to the community including communications, events, content and partner coordination. Tom has worked for more than 16 years with manufacturing companies at Catalyst Connection in many roles including project management, marketing, contract management and communication. He oversees communications and outreach of the Catalyst Connection organization to the community and grantors. Tom promotes services, trainings and events provided to manufacturers as well as community outreach programs that engage young people in manufacturing career opportunities. Tom manages the web site content, various newsletters, the Shale POWER website, email and social media, liaisons with media outlets and supports other communications. Prior to joining Catalyst Connection, Tom spent a total of 12 years in the field of client relations and contract administration for a variety of companies including Westinghouse, Teletech and the WVHTC Foundation. Tom holds a B.S. degree from West Liberty State University with dual majors in Marketing and Computer Information Sciences.  He also holds an MBA with a Marketing concentration from the Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh. Tom is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).

 

Matthew W. Henderson brings with him nearly two decades of business development experience, including over 15 years of engagement within the energy sector, with a strong focus on the unconventional shale industry throughout the tri-state Appalachian basin. During this time, Matt has worked closely with exploration and production, midstream, transmission and supply chain contractors, along with federal, state and local government officials, economic development agencies, universities and even foreign governments to maximize and seize their opportunities within the unconventional shale sector. Matt develops marketing and business strategies for businesses and entrepreneurs looking to capitalize on shale development in the United States and international markets. He works with small to medium-sized business as well as Fortune 500 companies looking to understand their value proposition and entry point to all sectors of the industry. Matt lives in Mill Creek Township with his wife and children and is a lifelong resident of Lycoming County, in the heart of the Marcellus Shale development.
