Laser Cutting & Engraving with CorelDRAW & Epilog Systems

This course provides participants with hands-on instruction in preparing, executing, and troubleshooting laser cutting and engraving jobs using CorelDRAW and Epilog laser systems.

Learners will gain practical experience configuring design files, optimizing vector and raster artwork, selecting appropriate laser parameters, and safely operating laser equipment. Emphasis is placed on production ready workflows, material efficiency, and quality control, enabling participants to take a design from initial digital concept through final physical output with confidence and precision.

Topics:

  • Configuring CorelDRAW for Epilog laser systems (RGB color mode, page sizing)
  • Vector graphics creation for precision cutting and vector engraving
  • Raster image preparation for high-quality engraving (resolution and dithering)
  • Converting raster images to vectors and refining paths for clean executions
  • Applying hairline strokes (0.001 in) and RGB color mapping for multi-operation jobs
  • Text and font manipulation for legibility and structural integrity
  • Material safety, fire risks, and prohibited materials (e.g., PVC)
  • Nesting techniques to optimize material usage and reduce waste
  • Epilog Dashboard operation (speed, power, frequency settings)
  • Basic laser maintenance, including lens and mirror cleaning
  • Troubleshooting common laser output issues (misalignment, scorching, loss of detail)
  • End-to-end project execution from design to finished part
