Cellular Flow Manufacturing Training

July 1, 2018 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm EDT

Course Overview

Learn how linking and balancing process steps to create flow can reduce process lead times by as much as 95 percent, WIP by 90 percent and floor space by 50 to 75 percent, while increasing productivity by 40 percent or more.

Participants first learn the concepts of flow and cellular manufacturing, then gain hands-on experience applying the principles in a simulated manufacturing environment. Dramatic and measurable improvements are demonstrated as the participants transform a traditional, batch-production operation into a cellular layout, where product flows and customer demand is met more flexibly with existing resources.

In addition to a workbook containing all course materials for the session, participants also receive sample forms and worksheets to facilitate the application of cellular manufacturing principles in their facilities.

Participants will learn how to apply cellular manufacturing principles to:

  • Maximize value-added time for each worker
  • Minimize part movement and WIP
  • Improve quality and productivity
  • Reduce lead-time, cycle-time and waiting time
  • Increase flexibility
  • Simplify cross-training
  • Free floor space

Who Should Attend?

Team leaders, manufacturing engineers, and those responsible for continuous improvement and/or implementing and working with cells
