Additive Manufacturing Working Group

The next quarterly meeting of the Southwestern PA Additive Manufacturing Working Group will be held January 9, 2019 at Concurrent Technologies Corporation, 100 CTC Drive, Johnstown, PA 15904. See detailed agenda below.

SWPA Additive Manufacturing (AM) Working Group Charter

The purpose of the AM Working Group is to help manufacturers derisk AM adoption. As a member of the Working Group, you’ll learn tools and tips to evaluate AM and determine where and how your organization could gain the most benefit from its adoption. Below are additional benefits for AM Working Group Members:

  • Learn from experts in the field
  • Accelerate AM adoption by learning best practices and lessons learned from peers who have adopted AM
  • Build professional relationships with peers, suppliers, AM service providers, and academics
  • Gain MEP support in derisking AM for your organization in order to maximize business value from successful AM adoption

Communication Mechanisms

  • Email – meeting communications, meeting notes, pilot requests
  • LinkedIn Group & E-Newsletter (not yet active) – technology & industry updates, pilot requests, best practices and lessons learned, case studies
  • Catalyst Connection Website – meeting announcements, meeting registration
  • Face-to-face Meetings – the Working Group meets quarterly at Catalyst Connection, as well as different venues to allow members to view the equipment and capabilities of different facilities & organizations


As a member of the Working Group, you will help Catalyst Connection:

  • Define common AM interests and needs of the manufacturing community
  • Participate in Catalyst pilots as new tools, assessments and training materials are developed
  • Provide feedback and insights to help us determine what works and what doesn’t when it comes to AM evaluation and adoption by manufacturers
