Art has been active in commercial, retail, and real estate lending in both the private and public sectors since the 1980s. He also has extensive experience in financing and consulting for economic development projects. During his earlier work as Catalyst Connection’s regional director, he gained a strong background in sales and marketing. In addition to his current work at Catalyst Connection, he serves as chairman of the business loan review committee for the City of Pittsburgh Urban Redevelopment Authority and the Allegheny County Department of Economic Development.
Art is a member of the board of directors of the Allegheny-Pittsburgh Business Development Corp. and a member of the Community Investment Fund Committee of the Mon Valley Initiative. Art is also a member of the Pennsylvania Economic Development Association. He has served as a consultant to the Pittsburgh Foundation and as a member of the Pennsylvania Technology Investment Authority’s Regional Board of Southwestern Pennsylvania. He is a certified economic development finance professional as well as a Leadership Pittsburgh graduate, Class XIX, and he holds a B.S. in business administration from Duquesne University.
